Study of Functional and
Information Requirements
Spacer line
For our client, an innovative Slovenian company, we conducted a study of the functional and informational requirements for equipment intended to track
wood assortments and other primary materials under Regulation EUDR 1115/2023/EU concerning the availability of certain primary and other products (cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy, and wood) related to deforestation and forest degradation on the EU market and their export from the EU. The regulation is primarily aimed at importers of these products into the EU, who will need to register with the relevant (customs) office within one year and provide a Due Diligence Declaration for import or export, specifying the geolocation of the lands where these products were primarily produced. These declarations will be stored in the EU information system, which should also allow the conversion of data from relevant geolocation identification systems. Additional challenges include implementing measures to protect the accessibility and authenticity of collected data, including the analysis of unauthorized intrusions. We also witnessed firsthand that plantations in African and Asian countries are already being equipped with geolocation technology.

As part of the project "Enhancing Institutional Capacities for Coordinating and Implementing EU Legal Frameworks on Competitiveness and Innovation in Montenegro," we conducted a new series of practical training sessions on the use of management standards for state institutions in the second half of 2024, including:
  • on the ISO 26001 standard for social responsibility and private assessment schemes such as GRI
  • on the use of the ISO 18091 standard in inclusive leadership in local governments based on quality management principles and sustainable operations
  • on the series of new ISO 5600X standards for product and service innovation and intellectual property management
  • women entrepreneurship (ISO 53800)
  • guidelines for SMEs to understand the importance and advantages of standards
  • practical use of the ISO 21001 standard in educational institutions
  • international cooperation and national coordination of quality infrastructure institutions.

The training sessions also featured accompanying events, such as well-attended round tables on the above topics, with participants from various private and public sector stakeholders.

Study of Safety and Metrology Requirements
Spacer line
For our client, a renowned engineering company specializing in the development and production of automated production systems for continuous production of rubber products,
our team, along with specialists, conducted a study of safety and metrology requirements for the planned renovation of a decades-old production line. Thanks to our study, the "brownfield" investment will enable significantly more productive and safer work with 100% line quality control. Such studies are more demanding than "greenfield investments" as the planning must consider the existing conditions and simultaneously use the current state of technical solutions to achieve the goals.
